this small room, lit up and afloat

A photographic and movement exploration of bodies in perpetual, unraveling motion. This live durational research session invites us into the fragile space between impulse and realization of impulse, where our sense of gravity, temporality, and potential is stretched beyond ourselves. Four dancers inhabit shifting physicalities that collide and morph in real time. The work unravels in conversation with the photographs that surround them: a series exploring the resonance of extremity and action, both inside and outside the body. Together, image and movement offer an invitation to lend our senses and the subtleties of our viewership, to the different ways time unfolds when we look at a photograph versus a living body in motion.
